Concerning the union of Yeshua Messiah and the assembly:

1 Corinthians 12:13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

It is interesting that the same issues Yeshua dealt with still existing today. Is it arrogance and blindness believe one in the Covenant with out Yeshua? Yeshua said harlots enter the kingdom before men who refuse to believe he is the Messiah and King. Are we grafted in through faith and belief in our Messiah Yeshua or through Judaism? Are dead branches bearing no fruit, cut off from the covenant but unaware? Called to repentance and given every opportunity by YHVH to live by coming to Yeshua, did they refused then and refuse now?

But we who believe (Jew and Gentile) and filled with the Ruach haKodesh. We know it is not possible to be grafted in any other way than through the blood of Messiah who is in his body and blood the new and living way. Having received the words of YHVH by the prophet like unto Moses, we know there is no partaking of the Kingdom without Yeshua son of YHVH for he said, “I am the way, the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father except by me”. We know because these truths spoken by Paul in Romans 9, not all who are of Israel are Israel.

The kingdom was taken from unbelievers, and given to a nation that would bring forth the fruits of it. That is not anti-Semitism, IT IS YESHUA’S WORD, it is Torah. The dead branches will be “cut off”, dead branches are unbelievers, those who bear no fruit which is Christ. They are only good to be burned. Those who were invited did not come to the wedding. (But he is able to graft them back in upon repentance, our prayer, “thy will be done” may they return.) Some are blinded for a time who’s eyes will be opened and ultimately say “Blessed is he who come”. Praise Abba!
Yeshua said to Jerusalem “Tell ye the daughter of Sion, Behold, thy King cometh unto thee, meek, and sitting upon an ass, and a colt the foal of an ass”.
And who believed him? Jesus saith unto them, “Verily I say unto you, That the publicans and the harlots go into the kingdom of God before you. For John came unto you in the way of righteousness, and ye believed him not: but the publicans and the harlots believed him: and ye, when ye had seen it, repented not afterward, that ye might believe him.”
It was always Abba’s intention that the kingdom be established in righteousness who is Yeshua, not in flesh but in Spirit and promise, by faith believing. Those who reject the righteous king have no fellowship with US and we are not trying to have fellowship with THEM except they repent. We who believe are not trying to have fellowship with unbelieving Israel. He is Israel who believes in Yeshua haMessiah. We have linked our destiny to Israel through our Messiah Yeshua. Our fellowship is in him and we are grafted in by his blood and his Ruoch haKodesh.

The church is pictured by Ruth, the one who gleans in the fields of Boaz. The field is not hers, but it is promised to her children through redemption and marriage. It is the kinsman redeemer who chooses to redeem her and her willingness to become Israel and bear children to build the house of righteousness. It is between the OWNER of the field and the Gentile who is redeemed to bring forth the fruits of a righteousness kingdom.

Our fellowship is NOT obtained by ‘rubbing elbows’ with Jews or even in being Jewish, living in Israel, keeping Israel’s traditions, partaking in the holocaust, etc. Did not those who left Egypt fall in the wilderness, cut off from salvation when he said “I have sworn in my wrath, that generation will NOT enter into my rest”? Did not Yeshua say to Jerusalem, “behold your house is left to you desolate until you say “blessed is he who comes in the name of the lord’?

Our fellowship (grafting in) is in Messiah Yeshua! We who are joined by the wedding of the lamb. Those who were bid and did not come when invited (refused Yeshua) are rejected, those who come too late and have no oil, the door will be shut and although they cry to get in and bang on the door, entrance is refused.

The evil that falls upon unbelieving Israel is upon their own heads and I do not have to partake in their unbelief or in the vengeance of YHVH, that is wrong. I am called out to save my own soul and NOT be partakers of her sins. And if I do not partake in her sins, I do not partake in her desolations. What did Yeshua say about when Jerusalem is surrounded by armies? Did he say, oh you must stay with Israel and get the holocaust desolation with them? No, he said to those believers “flee to the mountains”.

Jeremiah 51:6 Flee out of the midst of Babylon, and deliver every man his soul: be not cut off in her iniquity; for this is the time of the LORD’s vengeance; he will render unto her a recompense.

  4. Shelley says

Steven, according to Paul, an unbeliever is someone who does not keep Torah. And I do realize the implications of that statement.

Look in a concordance at the word the KJV translates as unrighteousness in 2 Corinthians 6.14. It’s the word the Septuigant uses for being without Torah or lawless. It’s also the same word used in I John 3 where John talks about sin being transgression of the law. John literally says the definition of sin is to be in violation of the law.

    2 Corinthians 6.14

Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with LAWLESSNESS (aka Torahlessness)? and what communion hath light with darkness?

    I John 3.4

“Everyone who sins breaks the law; in fact, sin is lawlessness.”

Once one RIGHTLY divides the words, one can understand the scriptural definition of what a believer is, believes and does.

  5. Steven says

Oh the penalty to those who are led by unbeliving Israel! Will anyone hear?

the LORD shall set up the adversaries of Rezin against him and join his enemies together; The Syrians before, and the Philistines behind; and they shall devour Israel with open mouth. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.

For the people turneth not unto him that smiteth them, neither do they seek the LORD of hosts. Therefore the LORD will cut off from Israel head and tail, branch and rush, in one day. The ancient and honourable, he is the head; and the prophet that teacheth lies, he is the tail.

For the leaders of this people cause them to err; and they that are led of them are destroyed. Therefore the LORD shall have no joy in their young men, neither shall have mercy on their fatherless and widows: for every one is an hypocrite and an evildoer, and every mouth speaketh folly. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.

For wickedness burneth as the fire: it shall devour the briers and thorns, and shall kindle in the thickets of the forest, and they shall mount up like the lifting up of smoke. Through the wrath of the LORD of hosts is the land darkened, and the people shall be as the fuel of the fire: no man shall spare his brother.

And he shall snatch on the right hand, and be hungry; and he shall eat on the left hand, and they shall not be satisfied: they shall eat every man the flesh of his own arm:
Manasseh, Ephraim; and Ephraim, Manasseh: and they together shall be against Judah. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.

  6. Steven says

Let there be no confusion in the assembly of YHVH. No one who rejects Yeshua is keeping the Torah. No one who keeps the Torah rejects Yeshua Messiah. Not believing in Yeshua is lawlessness. Only decieved will claim to keep Torah but not accept Yeshua. Believing in Yeshua Messiah IS THE TORAH, it brings forth obedience to the commandments by the new covenant written in our hearts and inward parts. No one who rejects Yeshua is part of the new covenant for it was made in his blood and body. Unless they eat it, they have no part in him.

In conclusion: The new covenant was not made in the keeping of commandments like the covenant he made with our Fathers at Mt Sinai. It was made in “I will write” and “you shall know” NOT “you shall keep”.

No Yeshua, no Torah, no covenant, no life!

    Shalom 🙂

  7. jono vandor says

Steven, what is your understanding of the prophecy in Zechariah 8:23, “Thus said יהוה of hosts, ‘In those days ten men from all languages of the nations take hold, yea, they shall take hold of the edge of the garment of him who is a Jew, saying, “Let us go with you, for we have heard that Elohim is with you.”

  8. Steven says

Jono, a good question. The answer is actually simple but understanding is given only to those to whom it is given to know. I could write a book. It is one of the mysteries of the Kingdom spoken of by Yeshua. We are with Yeshua or we are against him. Who is on the lord’s side?

John 12:26 If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honor.

Isaiah 42 speaks of the King of the Jews “in that day” and if he is not your king, you are no Jew!

Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth; I have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles. He shall not cry, nor lift up, nor cause his voice to be heard in the street. A bruised reed shall he not break, and the smoking flax shall he not quench: he shall bring forth judgment unto truth. He shall not fail nor be discouraged, till he have set judgment in the earth: and the isles shall wait for his law. Thus saith God the LORD, he that created the heavens, and stretched them out; he that spread forth the earth, and that which cometh out of it; he that giveth breath unto the people upon it, and spirit to them that walk therein: I the LORD have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles; To open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the prison, and them that sit in darkness out of the prison house.

Read in context, who is it they go up to see? Is it Adonai? Who is Adonai with, who does he put his spirit upon, who brings forth judgment to the Gentiles? Who is the light of the Gentiles? WHO IS GIVEN FOR A COVENANT OF THE PEOPLE? The elect, Yeshua, King of the Jews!

When then is “in that day” spoken of in Zechariah 8?
Now we see Noah, the eighth preacher of righteousness, commanded to prepare an ark. Why? The ark was a seed bank. Why was it so small, why was it not prepared larger just in case some people repented, should not Noah have made room just in case? But was he not told exactly how large to build? Abba would separate the righteous from the wicked.

But, if we see the truth, the ark was just big enough for the seed that was chosen (many are called, few are chosen) to pass from death unto life, from one age to another, a remnant. Abba knew before hand what seed he would save and what seed was to be “cut off”. Even knowing before hand, he held out his hand all the day long, and those who repent enter the ark of his covenant made in his body, pitched in his blood. Those who do not repent wait too long to enter, the ark and returning too late find the door shut and it too late to enter. The ark was already closed when the rain of destruction and purification of the world began. Did they realize their mistake and bang on the door and plead to enter but the door remained shut? Just like today, what was before is what will be. (For as in the days of Noah so shall the coming of the Son of Man be).

Today the Son of Man has prepared an ark in his own body. Pitched in his own blood (picture of covering and atonement) and built according to the Fathers word. It is a seed bank, and what is being saved to cross over is “all the righteous seed that remains in the earth”. He will not destroy the righteous with the wicked. They enter into his covenant by eating his blood and body and keeping his words, following where he leads, even unto martyrdom if required. All who are righteous enter into the ark, Jew and Gentile (my sheep know my voice another they will not follow) and all who are wicked are “cut off from the earth”…this time by fire.

Of the Jew’s spoken of in Zechariah, He always has a remnant chosen by grace, saved for the purpose of crossing over, and this time is no different. 144,000 saved by grace, undefiled, 12,000 of each tribe, sealed servants of Adoni. And we see “Of the tribe of Juda were sealed twelve thousand”. And we see a “GREAT MULTITUDE” all dressed in white. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

All who are left, the defiled and unrepentant, those not washed in the blood of the lamb will be “cut off” and the door will be shut and they will cry then, “lord, open to us” but he replies “Verily I say unto you, I know you not”.

His hand remains outstretched and open to any who would enter in. But he already knows who is his and says “I know my sheep and call them all by name”. The Jews who are alive “in that day” will all know him from the least to the greatest, so men coming to Israel to seek the lord will take hold of the garments of a Jew because they know the truth that YHVH is with those Jews who have entered into his rest. Not to be confused with the Jew’s of today who refuse to enter his rest, to enter into the ark of the new covenant, whom are cut off when the door is closed.

Those men he never knew! Shalom

My family and I have enjoyed this series on the fall feasts with Yoel ben Shlomo. We thank you for your time and willingness to teach us.

During the discussion on the roof of the Sukkah, it occurred to me that when the congregation of Israel was in the wilderness, a “pillar of cloud by day” and a “pillar of fire by night” was always present (Exodus 13:21-22). The constant protection of His covering (from the hot sun in the day, from the cold nights) was always seen by them whether they were moving from one place to another or temporarily resting in a sukkah. I’m not sure if this is the right application but it seems meaningful to me that Isaiah 4:5-6 speaks of a time future: “then the LORD will create above every dwelling place of Mount Zion, and above her assemblies, a cloud and smoke by day and the shining of a flaming fire by night. For over all the glory there will be a covering. And there will be a tabernacle for shade in the daytime from the heat, for a place of refuge, and for a shelter from storm and rain.” (NKJV) So, we remember and we look forward.

Another note on the discussion of being grafted in per Ruth:
“May Hashem reward your deed, and may your payment be full from Hashem, the God of Israel, under Whose wings you have come to seek refuge.” (Stone Ed.) The covering of refuge for those who choose to be joined to the God of Israel and His people.

Also, the significance of the harvest as HIS provision even as He provided in the wilderness. We need to remind ourselves that He is our provider and not miss the miracle of His ongoing provision regardless of the circumstances……we are, after all, still in the wilderness.

    Blessings!

    Re: Stephen:

You state: “No Yeshua, no Torah, no covenant, no life!”

Can you explain the following, as written in Luke 23:39-43

39 Then one of the criminals who were hanged blasphemed Him, saying, “If You are the Christ, save Yourself and us.”
40 But the other, answering, rebuked him, saying, “Do you not even fear God, seeing you are under the same condemnation?
41 And we indeed justly, for we receive the due reward of our deeds; but this Man has done nothing wrong.”
42 Then he said to Jesus, “Lord, remember me when You come into Your kingdom.”
43 And Jesus said to him, “Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise.”
    (NKJV)

Neither criminal, as recorded, did keep Torah….but the one that repented will be in Paradise….

I have come to learn that the Word from the God of Israel is very complex, and we are to be very careful in the handling of His Word…

  11. Steven says

Stephen You state: “No Yeshua, no Torah, no covenant, no life!”
Bill asks me: Can you explain the following, as written in Luke 23:39-43

Bill, thank you for your question and yes I can answer it. I am not afraid to teach Torah, as I have received this commandment, although some might think it my mishandling the word? 🙂 Shalom

The truth is that one thief, held Yeshua, and Torah, and Covenant, and Life! The other did not. One achieved a resurrection of the just, the other a resurrection of the unjust, but all men come to him when he is lifted up, THAT IS TORAH, every man will give an account of his words and deeds.

So to the question “did one of the thieves keep the Torah or were they both lawless? Torah is life and death, (behold, I have this day set before you life and death, choose life) that is seen at the crucifixions.

Bill you say both thieves did not keep Torah, but I would disagree. How is repentance NOT keeping Torah? How is receiving forgiveness not keeping Torah. How is accepting grace NOT keeping Torah? I see Torah being fulfilled by both the repentant and forgiver, I see atonement and justification, I see one who came not to condemn but to forgive, that is Torah? I see Yeshua a life giving spirit and a thief a life receiving person. Salvation, that’s Torah! Psalm 32:1 Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. And finally, I see Torah fulfilled by one choosing death by not coming to Yeshua that he may have life.

So we see the fulfillment of Torah in Love of Abba, through Yeshua a covering for sin in the sacrifice of the lamb (Abba will provide himself a lamb) Everything that happened between the 3 on stakes was keeping Torah unto it’s fulfillment, both judgment of those departing into death and of those raised unto life. For Torah is Life and Death, a few do what is lawful and right, they choose life.

“But if the wicked turn from his wickedness, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall live thereby”. And what is lawful and right?

What is lawful and right is to CHOOSE LIFE for that is the end of the commandment! (Love) And HOW is life, the keeping of commandments? No, for if there was a commandment that could give life there would have been no need for a Savior to be sent from heaven TO DIE IN OUR PLACE. So we understand that Yeshua is “the way, the truth and the life”. What is lawful and right, commandment to be accomplished? It can be SEEN IN this scripture but there are others:

“At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes. Even so, Father: for so it seemed good in thy sight. All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him. Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. “

“AS I LIVE, SAITH THE LORD GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?”

  13. Dafydd says

    Steven

You wrote above “No Yeshua, no Torah, no covenant, no life!”
Would you please reconcile that statement for me with the following prophecies?

    Jeremiah 50:4-5 (KJV)
In those days, and in that time, saith the LORD, the children of Israel shall come, they and the children of Judah together, going and weeping: they shall go, and seek the LORD their God.
5They shall ask the way to Zion with their faces thitherward, saying, Come, and let us join ourselves to the LORD in a perpetual covenant that shall not be forgotten.

    Isaiah 49:21
21Then shalt thou say in thine heart, Who hath begotten me these, seeing I have lost my children, and am desolate, a captive, and removing to and fro? and who hath brought up these? Behold, I was left alone; these, where had they been?

    Ezekiel 16:60-61 (KJV)
60 Nevertheless I will remember my covenant with thee in the days of thy youth, and I will establish unto thee an everlasting covenant.
61 Then thou shalt remember thy ways, and be ashamed, when thou shalt receive thy sisters, thine elder and thy younger: and I will give them unto thee for daughters, but not by thy covenant.

Jeremiah above was referring to the beginning of the return of Israel, together with the second Aliyah from Judah. This is timed to occur at the beginning of God’s wrath being poured out on a delinquent nation called Babylon the Great.

The passage from Isaiah quoted from above was from Judah’s perspective at the return of Israel to Zion, “these, where had they been”.

The third quote above from Ezekiel continues the narrative, also from the perspective of Judah in relation to Israel, authorizing the reintroduction of marriages between all the Tribes, but I would direct your attention to the final part of the final sentence “but not by thy covenant”

Does this not indicate dual and parallel covenants?

Is it not possible that Judah (today’s Jews) is still judged according to the Mosaic Covenant, whereas Israel, still “to the north, west and the land of Sinim” (Isaiah 49:12) is bound by their personal Covenant with Yehoshua?

  14. Pekka H says

Steven: “Let there be no confusion in the assembly of YHVH. No one who rejects Yeshua is keeping the Torah. No one who keeps the Torah rejects Yeshua Messiah. Not believing in Yeshua is lawlessness.”

Exactly. Very well said brother. It is impossible to obey Torah without confessing Yeshua as the Messiah of Israel and following Him by keeping the commandments YHVH and producing the fruit of the Holy Spirit.

“YHVH thy Elohim will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken…” (Deut. 18:15)

I believe that speaks about Yehoshua ben Nun and Yeshua Ben Elohim – the Prophet of all prophets. it is a two-fold prophecy.

  15. Andre says

Stephen – I do agree with you concerning the thief who was on the cross next to Yeshua… when we look at his words the thief said that he himself was worthy of death because of his deeds – but that Yeshua was not worthy of death. Obviously God knows the heart… there is no sacrifice for consciously going against God’s commands… we can only ask for mercy. So that man’s heart was obviously sincere and he accepted the death penalty that he deserved – and in doing so Yeshua promised him eternal life. Only God’s judgement is right because he sees the inside of the heart – we don’t.

  16. Andre says

A very important thing Mr. Yoel brought up is that in order for the people to keep the land they must keep the Torah. God is the ultimate landlord of the land and moves and removes whom He pleases. Ultimately we know that that land is an inheritance for all who believe… but “until the time of the Gentiles is fullfilled” there will continue to be problems. There is no escaping it. Faithfulness is the key. This is nothing new… for the past 4000 years the land has been fought over by many different groups of people who were certainly not all Arabs (in fact Muslim countries used to protect Israelites from the Catholic church and the Crusaders historically). God will deal with all of HIS enemies of whatever race and whatever country they live in. Just as Jonah noted from Zechariah 14 – those left who are not destroyed will come up to Jerusalem to worship at Sukkot. Specifically in Isaiah 60 it states that in the future glory of Jerusalem – Midian and Ephah – along with Sheba and Kedar (the Arab lands) will be in fellowship with Israel and will bring gifts to worship God. We who believe in Yeshua need to remember to not hate people – but be a witness to all people. The admonishment to “love your enemies” is not just for the ones we want to. God will sort out the rest.

  17. Steven says

Hi Dafydd, you ask me to reconcile scriptures for you? Pray for the Holy Spirit and he will lead you into all truth. (You have one who is your teacher if you are Yeshua’s) Nevertheless, I am commanded to teach and the Spirit of Yah weights the hearts of men. 🙂

Let’s be clear what I mean by my statement ‘No Yeshua, no Torah, no Covenant, no life’.

To reject the son, who is the salvation of our Elohim, means you are not obeying the Torah commandment to “choose life”. Since the covenant was made in his blood and body from the foundations in him who was from the beginning, to reject Yeshua is to refuse to enter into new covenant seeing ISRAEL and JUDAH broke the covenant Yah made with our fathers when he brought them out of Egypt. Those who refuse the cup of the covenant are “cut off” at the time of judgment, and since life in is Yeshua (salvation) one must go to him to receive eternal life.

Does Jeremiah 50 need reconciling to my statement concerning Yeshua? Not if one reads the entire chapter or preferably the entire book which speaks of Yeshua many, many times? Yah asks “who is like me?” and we who believe know clearly that is Messiah Yeshua.

Does not the very passage of Jeremiah speak of Israel and Judah as those WITHOUT ZION, and have forgotten “the way” to Zion (Yeshua say’s I am the way)? Are they not WITHOUT A COVENANT WHO SEEK ONE? Does not the book of Jeremiah clearly show “who is that shepherd that will stand before me”?
Does not Jeremiah 50 reconcile itself to my statement in verse 44: “Behold, he shall come up like a lion from the swelling of Jordan unto the habitation of the strong: but I will make them suddenly run away from her: and who is a chosen man that I may appoint over her? for who is like me? and who will appoint me the time? and who is that shepherd that will stand before me?”

Who needs to join themselves to the Lord BUT THOSE WHO HAVE FORSAKEN HIM for it is written “I have not forsaken you, but you have forsaken me”! and “For Israel hath not been forsaken, nor Judah of his God, of the LORD of hosts; though their land was filled with sin against the Holy One of Israel.”
Israel and Judah need reconciliation and atonement because they rejected the Father when they broke the covenant, they reject today the Father when they reject his son, and life will only be found by following the instruction concerning the new covenant made in the body and blood of Yeshua.

“O Zion, that bringest good tidings, get thee up into the high mountain; O Jerusalem, that bringest good tidings, lift up thy voice with strength; lift it up, be not afraid; say unto the cities of Judah, Behold your God! Behold, the Lord GOD will come with strong hand, and his arm shall rule for him: behold, his reward is with him, and his work before him. He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young.

    Who is he?
    Shalom

  18. Steven says

    Return oh Israel!
Concerning the covenants it is important to note they are like petals of a flower with one stem. They do not exist separately from one another. All covenants are work finished from the foundations. It might appear to some that Yah just thought them up in response to human actions as they occurred but, in actuality these covenants were part of the plan and ALL COVENANTS ARE FULFILLED IN MESSIAH, not separate from him. Acts 15 speaks “Known unto God are all his works from the beginning of the world.”

Let’s be clear, what we are speaking of when we discuss any covenant in itself is how it stands in relationship TO “the Kingdom of YHVH” in heaven and earth” built by the creator himself. It’s the creator indicating portions of his blueprints, not buildings in themselves but a portion of the frame and structure of the “house of YHVH. We learn about the Kingdom Structure built through Yah himself, through these covenants. Let’s have one example.

For instance, when Yah makes covenant with David we find David promising to build Yah a house. An oath, but does David have what it takes to fulfill his oath? Not apart from Abba for David did not build Yah a house. What did David do? He built a tabernacle for the Ark. He bought the threshing floor. He brought the Ark to Israel. Would you say David was a liar? No, the oath was fulfilled in a type by a son of David, Solomon, but not the covenant. The covenant is fulfilled in completion by Yeshua.

For it is written Isaiah 66: Thus saith the LORD, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: where is the house that ye build unto me? and where is the place of my rest? For all those things HATH MINE HAND MADE, AND ALL THOSE THINGS HAVE BEEN, saith the LORD: but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word.
We see in the Davidic covenant the Ark, Yah dwelling in a temporary dwelling, a tent or tabernacle. Yah perfectly happy but David is disturbed that his house of cedar is “better than” the dwelling place of Yah. Nathan says “go and do all that is in your heart” but Abba after some discussion says to paraphrase: No David, you are a man of war you shall not build my house.

“Thus saith the LORD, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: where is the house that ye build unto me? and where is the place of my rest? For all those things hath mine hand made, and all those things have been, saith the LORD: but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word.”

So the covenant of promise to David to “set up thy seed after you” to “build a house FOR MY NAME” to “I will establish thy throne of thy kingdom forever” and “I will be his Father, and he shall be My son. If he commits iniquity, I will chasten him” and “your throne shall be established forever”.

And we see David understands that all things are Yah’s and that it takes to build the temple is from him and prays. Thine, O LORD is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O LORD, and thou art exalted as head above all. Both riches and honour come of thee, and thou reignest over all; and in thine hand is power and might; and in thine hand it is to make great, and to give strength unto all. Now therefore, our God, we thank thee, and praise thy glorious name. But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to offer so willingly after this sort? for all things come of thee, and of thine own have we given thee. For we are strangers before thee, and sojourners, as were all our fathers: our days on the earth are as a shadow, and there is none abiding. O LORD our God, all this store that we have prepared to build thee an house for thine holy name cometh of thine hand, and is all thine own. I know also, my God, that thou triest the heart, and hast pleasure in uprightness. As for me, in the uprightness of mine heart I have willingly offered all these things: and now have I seen with joy thy people, which are present here, to offer willingly unto thee. O LORD God of Abraham, Isaac, and of Israel, our fathers, keep this for ever in the imagination of the thoughts of the heart of thy people, and prepare their heart unto thee: AND GIVE UNTO SOLOMON MY SON A PERFECT HEART, TO KEEP THY COMMANDMENTS, THY TESTIMONIES, AND THY STATUTES, and to do all these things, and to build the palace, for the which I have made provision.

But we know this prayer was not answered in Solomon whose heart was not perfect, neither did he keep the commandments and testimonies and statutes but his heart was turned to “other gods” by his disobedience in taking many foreign wives. Solomon DID BUILD A PALACE but it was not enduring and was destroyed and the kingdom was ripped out of his sons hands but one tribe for his father’s sake, and the throne was not established

So now we see the covenant made with David was not fulfilled in Solomon, so has Yah lied and not kept the promise? No, so then how is it fulfilled? That brings us to Messiah Yeshua. Yeshua was always from the beginning the fulfillment of the Davidic Covenant with it’s promises and the fulfillment of ALL COVENANT is in him.

  19. Steven says

Oh Jerusalem, city of peace, city of our Elohim: “How weak is thine heart, saith the LORD GOD, seeing thou doest all these things, the work of an imperious whorish woman”

What does it mean “not by thy covenant” in Ezekiel 16?

It means that at the time Yah remembers his Covenant with Jerusalem and establishes it, he will give the Sisters of Jerusalem to her for daughters to replace the children of her own she killed through her false prophets. Jerusalem broke the COVENANT OF HER BIRTH, (JERUSALEM EVEN TODAY) when she was chosen but did so much evil that Jerusalem made Sodom and Gomorrah look good and that in the Great White Throne Judgment, Sodom, Gomorrah and Egypt will be comforted by the judgment that Jerusalem receives. Yeshua spoke about Jerusalem who killed those who were sent to her, the true prophets and how it is better for her sisters in the judgment.
“not by thy covenant” means “without your agreement”! Yah will do this for His Names Sake and for her shame forever so she will be confounded, so she will not open her mouth ever again against him and it is in his will, not her agreement to it. He punishes, cleans with fire, and restores Jerusalem.

He is angry but not forever; his decision to establish THE JERUSALEM COVENANT with both Jew and Gentile, the children of Jerusalem born in Messiah. Her daughters given to her as a shame forever but interestingly, she is quite and content, clean with a full house of children, happy and glowing in the presence of a husband who has put down his foot, so to speak when all is said and done, a NEW JERUSALEM comes down from above.

    Happy days!
Galatians 3:26 For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. Shalom

Very interesting dialogue going on here, we love it, challenges us to seek for treasures of the Word.
Wow, thank you Yoel for beautiful insights in Hebraic roots of our faith.
We had a lovely sukkah built in the garden, and spending time in it, for breakfasts, lunch and dinners, and fellowshipping.
(we did bang in some nails, Jono, easily done :-)) and will email a picture to you. It is our first! )
We were invited to a service and invited to the rabbi’s home for lunch the next day under the sukkah, as he was excited we kept kosher diet, and the Feast Days AND the Torah.
The Hebrew prayers at the service, recited by his son, was fabulous!
My spirit leapt and pounded within me!
The rabbi’s teaching for sukkot was insightful.
Looking forward to more such sharings from Yoel, please.
    Thank you Jono!

  21. Andre says

Pekka – yes I agree… and God also warns those that will not hear “that Prophet” (v.19).
I always wondered whom Revelation 3:9 referred to. Were there ppl really pretending to be Jews – or was He referring to Jews who rejected Yeshua…??? We know the apostle Paul said to the Romans (2:28-9) that a person is not a Jew is is one outwardly – but they must have a circumcised heart. He also says later in his epistle that God will fulfill his word by saving physical Israel (chapters 9-11).. but of course just as he saved them out of Egypt and not everyone entered the Promised Land – not everyone will have a circumcised heart.

  22. Andre says

Steven – I agree with much of what you said… but Yeshua will certainly return to the Mount of Olives and will re-establish the kingdom to Israel on the Father’s timetable (as re-confirmed in Acts 1). John’s vision in Revelation (ch. 20-21) reflects what the prophets had said before (especially Ezekiel 39 and Isaiah 66) – prior to the new heaven and new earth (and new Jerusalem) there was must a reckoning on the earth where God will finally give the earthly Jerusalem permanent peace and have mercy on Israel.

  23. Dafydd says

    Steven,

I thank you for your considered and interesting response.

  24. Steven says

What a great day! To have a son return to Israel, the captive set free.

  25. jono vandor says

Steven, I agree it is a wonderful day to see Gilad Shalit returned to Israel. But is it not true that if I had him on the program to speak of his faith in the Creator during his captivity you would comment that he “is only good to be burned” because he does not believe in Yeshua as messiah? How do you refer to him as a son of Israel when you declare that if he does not believe in Yeshua then he is lawless, excluded from the covenant and therefore has no life!?

  26. Steven says

    Jono, good questions! 🙂

‘But is it not true that if I had him on the program to speak of his faith in the Creator during his captivity you would comment that he “is only good to be burned” because he does not believe in Yeshua as messiah?’

Would I teach what YHVH himself taught by Moses, every Prophet and Yeshua taught? Yes I would! Would you rather I don’t comment? I write for the good of the assembly, not to make people feel comfortable as they blindly walk into the flames. Perhaps we can pull a few out of the fire? Luke 17:29 But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.

I am very happy prisoners were released today but when it comes to the things of the kingdom, Gilad does not get a break just because he was in a Palestinian prison for 5 years. Yah has requirements to enter into the kingdom and just because it is fitting we rejoice in his freedom and return to his family does not mean he gets eternal life like some Israeli prize for military service. I don’t get one, you don’t get one and no son of Israel gets one and no Palestinian gets one. We all need to “man up” and face the facts however hard they are. It is not in my hands to decide who will shema and live and who will ignore and perish. It is my job to publish the good news, Yeshua did not come to condemn but to save, that is true, but, it’s every man’s own choice where he will end up. I think they deserve to know the truth, just like those who died in the flood were told the truth. They just chose to ignore the prophet Noah! Jew or Gentile, What did Yeshua teach? Hard sayings but truth nevertheless.

Luke 13 There were present at that season some that told him of the Galilaeans, whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices. And Jesus answering said unto them, Suppose ye that these Galilaeans were sinners above all the Galilaeans, because they suffered such things? I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slew them, think ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem? I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.
‘How do you refer to him as a son of Israel when you declare that if he does not believe in Yeshua then he is lawless, excluded from the covenant and therefore has no life!?’

I referred to him as a son….. is he not? Is he a citizen of Israel? I think my description was valid. No one is excluded from the covenant if they are called of YHVH, but no man comes to the son unless it is given to him by the Father. There is still time for men to repent and believe. What do you think Yeshua is doing but holding out his hand and offering the covenant if Israel will only believe?

YHVH has spoken, Moses has spoken, the Prophets have spoken, Yeshua has spoken, the Apostles have spoken. Except by entering in as YHVH has ordained it, there is no other way and unless a man do it the way YHVH has ordained it………..the end is fire! Have no confusion about it, Yah has spoken. Some men in their pride think they know better than those sent to Israel about how it is and how it should be.

Maybe your question Jono is really for our Father. Maybe the heart of your question is not that you have a problem with me but with Yeshua and Abba. I hate to say it but your questions have an air about them of denial concerning those things YHVH has said. Something of “we know boy’s we are about to get our heads blown off, but let’s pretend it is not happening” or “just move along, everything is fine and nothing to worry about” but everyone hears the bombs and rockets falling. Just sayin! 🙂

As for you programs Jono, if you bring up things that are not correct or in line with the word, should we not point it out so everyone who is seeking truth can grow in the grace and knowledge of our Adoni Yeshua? And how can we learn if we don’t examine each word?

I love you Jono and all of Israel including your guests and even my enemies and all my brothers and sisters in Messiah. It breaks my heart to see any confused or heading down the broad path. But I am realist and I believe what we were told by Yeshua is the truth. All I can do is warn. “Nevertheless I must walk to day, and to morrow, and the day following: for it cannot be that a prophet perish out of Jerusalem.”

I am Israel, my name is courage and my heart is Jerusalem, my King is Yeshua. I am the gospel ! I am called and chosen and commanded to teach.

  27. jono vandor says

Steven, thank you for your reply. I believe YHVH when He says in Ezekiel 18:30-32, ” “Therefore I judge you, O house of Yisra’ĕl, every one according to his ways,” declares the Master יהוה. “Repent, and turn back from all your transgressions, and let not crookedness be a stumbling-block to you. Cast away from you all the transgressions, by which you have transgressed, and make for yourselves a new heart and a new spirit. For why should you die, O house of Yisra’ĕl? For I have no pleasure in the death of one who dies,” declares the Master יהוה. “So turn back and live!”

My friend, brother, and guest on Truth2U, Yoel ben Shlomo, is a Jew who believes in One God and seeks to study, teach and obey His Torah. His insights and generosity with his time, together with his eagerness to teach Torah, makes his input invaluable to Truth2U Radio. He is circumcised both physically and of heart and thus in covenant with his Creator according to the Tanakh. He will always be welcome on the program and you can expect to continue to benefit from his discussion. If, however, you do not feel comfortable with a radio program with faithful Jews who do not believe in Yeshua such as Nehemia Gordon & Yoel ben Shlomo, you may feel more at home with, say, Jews for Jesus radio…if there is such a thing. 😉

  28. Steven says

Jono, no, I think I will stick around and continue to speak out unless you cut me off! 🙂

    Shalom

  29. The Remnant says

    steven….

And if some of the branches were broken off, and you, being a wild olive tree, were grafted in among them, and with them became a partaker of the root and fatness of the olive tree, do not boast against the branches. But if you do boast, remember that you do not support the root, but the root supports you….. Do not be haughty, but fear. For if God did not spare the natural branches, He may not spare you either.

  30. Steven says

God did not spare the natural branches because they did not believe………….! To both houses the foundation stone is a rock of offense. That stone we know is Yeshua. The covenant is broken, not by Yah but by Israel. A way of return is provided and ordained through a new and living way, the new covenant in body and blood of the word our Messiah.

And if I boast, my boast is in Christ not in myself.

My words and my teachings are from God and his Son our Messiah, I did not think them up, I did not claim any original ideas nor did any concept come from my own mind, I did not write the scriptures,

  31. jono vandor says

Steven wrote, “I did not write the scriptures

    … and neither did Paul.

  32. Steven says

Not wanting to argue I will drop it there. I do want to say thank you for not cutting me off. I willingly accept whatever stripes are mine to bear according as Yah see’s fit, if I have done other than his will. Now I will turn to Abba to see if there is some haughty thing in me, I have recieved his correction before, maybe will again, hope not! 🙂

“And that servant, which knew his lord’s will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes. But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.”

    Shalom

  33. Shelley says

Apparently, there is only one person here who is being led of the Spirit and commanded to teach and has all the wisdom of God and the truth of the ages. I know that because they keep indicating that.

  34. Andre says

Jono – I’m confused…. Yoel and Nehemiah can both be very generous and nice people… they can also be zealous for the Torah… but if they reject His Son Yeshua… the scriptures are quite clear that they reject the Father (that is unless they have never heard Yeshua preached). Their wisdom is very valuable… but to say they are ok with God just because they are Jews seems to go against scripture. There is no other name by which men can be saved… Many of the Jews that Yeshua preached to thought they were sincere as well. Yeshua told them that if they really believed Moshe (Moses) then they would believe in him – because Moshe spoke of Him. I pray for their eyes to be opened and the veil removed from their hearts… at least it appears they are not hostile to those who proclaim Yeshua.

  35. jono vandor says

G’day Andre, I understand, but it need not be so confusing. Just start from the beginning and see how one enters into covenant with Yah. These requirements have not changed because He does not change. If you read something outside of Scripture (which is the Tanakh according to the NT) that seems to add to or change these requirements then either you have misunderstood or what you are reading is just plain wrong. Either way, I find it clarifying to simply walk the ancient path (Jeremiah 6:16) 😉

  36. Steven says

    Isaiah 50:6
I gave my back to the smiters, and my cheeks to them that plucked off the hair: I hid not my face from shame and spitting.

  37. Andre says

Jono – thanks for responding. yes I certainly agree that it is wise for us to walk the ancient path… However, my question is that it seems that you were saying that a Jew can still remain in proper fellowship with Yah – if they do not receive His Son… How is that possible? WIthout question – there is still benefit in this life to keeping the Torah… but how can one expect to be assured of eternal life without recognizing who is the sacrifice that atones for us?

  38. jono vandor says

Isaiah 50:10-11, “Whoever among you revers Yehovah, let him heed the voice of His servant; whoever is walking in the dark and has no glimmer of light, let him trust in the name of Yehovah and rely on his Elohim. But all you who light your own fire and set your own firebrands alight, walk by the firebrands you have kindled. This is my message for you: You shall lie down in torment.”

  39. jono vandor says

Andras, you write “it seems that you were saying that a Jew can still remain in proper fellowship with Yah” (my emphasis) yet you continue, “if they do not receive His Son… How is that possible?”
You seem to be implying that there are now additional requirements outside of the Tanakh. Is this correct?

  40. Steven says

‘let him heed the voice of His servant;’

Yeshua is that servant. Hear ye him 🙂

  41. jono vandor says

“My servant Isaiah” – Isaiah 20:3
“My servant Eliakim” – Isaiah 22:20
“My servant David” – Isaiah 37:35
    “But you, Israel, my servant, Jacob, whom I have chosen, the offspring of Abraham, my friend. you whom I took from the ends of the earth, and called from its farthest corners,saying to you, “You are my servant, I have chosen you and not cast you off“;
    ” – Isaiah 41:8-9
“Behold my servant, whom I uphold, my chosen” – Isaiah 42:1
“Who is blind but my servant?” – Isaiah 42:19
“You are my witnesses,” declares the LORD, “and my servant whom I have chosen” – Isaiah 43:8
“O Jacob my servant; and Israel, whom I have chosen! Thus says the LORD who made you, who formed you from the womb and will help you: Fear not, O Jacob my servant, Jeshurun whom I have chosen.” – Isaiah 44:1-2

“my servant Jacob, and Israel my chosen” – Isaiah 45:4
You are my servant, Israel, in whom I will be glorified.” – Isaiah 49:3
“he says:”It is too light a thing that you should be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob and to bring back the preserved of Israel; I will make you as a light for the nations, that my salvation may reach to the end of the earth.” – Isaiah 49:6
“Behold, my servant shall act wisely; he shall be high and lifted up, and shall be exalted.” – Isaiah 52:13
“My servant, who by his knowledge did justify the Righteous One to the many, and their iniquities he did bear.” – Isaiah 53:11

  42. Steven says

Jono, Do you think that Isaiah 50 is not speaking about Yeshua?

  43. jono vandor says

Steven, which of the verses that I have quoted says that “My servant” is Yeshua?

  44. Steven says

Isaiah 50:10-11, “Whoever among you revers Yehovah, let him heed the voice of His servant; torment.”

“Behold, my servant shall act wisely; he shall be high and lifted up, and shall be exalted.” – Isaiah 52:13

“My servant, who by his knowledge did justify the Righteous One to the many, and their iniquities he did bear.” – Isaiah 53:11

  45. jono vandor says

Steven, here’s some highlights from Isaiah 45:

Verse 1 – Thus said יהוה to His messiah, Cyrus, whose right hand I have grasped, to subdue nations before him and ungird the loins of sovereigns, to open before him the double doors, so that gates are not shut:

Verse 4 – For the sake of Jacob My servant, and of Israel My chosen, I also call you by your name, I give you a title, though you have not known Me.

Verse 15 – Israel has been saved by יהוה with an everlasting salvation

Verses 21-25 – …there is no other god besides me, a righteous God and a Savior; there is none besides me. Turn to me and be saved,
all the ends of the earth! For I am God, and there is no other. By myself I have sworn; from my mouth has gone out in righteousness a word that shall not return: To me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear allegiance.’ Only in the LORD, it shall be said of me, are righteousness and strength to him shall come and be ashamed all who were incensed against him. In the LORD all the offspring of Israel shall be justified and shall glory.

  46. Andre says

Jono – I was mistaken… I thought you believed Yeshua was the Messiah of Israel. By the other scriptures you are discussing from Isaiah – I would assume you believe the “Son” referred to in Psalm #2 refers to the children of Jacob and not specifically the Messiah? My next question is that while obeying the Torah itself does bring earthly blessing… the Tanak states in many places that all men have the need of a sacrificial covering. God has not permitted a temple to be re-built (the forces of darkness could NOT stop it)… so how are sins being forgiven now if not for Yeshua?

  47. jono vandor says

Andre, are you saying that belief in Yeshua as the messiah of Israel requires assuming information not found in these verses? What makes you think that Psalm 2:7 is about Yeshua?

In regards to your next question, am I to understand that you think the rebuilding of the prophesied Temple will be the work of “the forces of darkness”?

In anycase, you ask “so how are sins being forgiven now if not for Yeshua?” Yoel and I answer that question in our discussion on Yom Kippur… https://truth2u.org/2011/10/yoel-ben-shlomo-yom-kippur.html

  48. Andre says

Jono – well I think you answered my questions indirectly… and no I did NOT say that the forces of darkness would re-build the temple. I said that if Yah had wanted it re-built it would have been done and nothing and no one could stop it… not the Crusaders or the UN or Muslims or anyone else.
I heard the Yom Kippur episode you all did and I found it very informative… but the Torah is quite clear that without the shedding of blood there is no redemption… I’m sorry but there is no way around that.
Every single man righteous or unrighteous in the Tanak had to bring sacrifice at one point or another… from Cain to Abraham to Joshua to Daniel. They all walked in faith trusting in God’s forgiveness. Once Israel was settled in the land… Jerusalem became the only suitable place for sacrifice… by Yah’s will (not man or Satan) that has been taken out of existence for the past 1940 years. According to numerous places in the Tanak – no man can perfectly walk out the Torah until God circumcises our hearts and defeats the grave… until then we need blood to atone. I believe that Yeshua is that blood atonement that covers us until that time. I also believe that He is the Perfect Lamb that is the re-enactment of Israel’s redemption. So if I die tomorrow – I have faith in His sacrifice to reconcile me to God and not my own attempts to live the Torah to my best ability (which I do) – since there is no longer a temple in Jerusalem.

If you think that none of those verses referenced earlier were about Yeshua… then what do you really think His role is? I was not clear on that.

  49. jono vandor says

Andre, you wrote, “the Torah is quite clear that without the shedding of blood there is no redemption.” Could you please supply the specific passage you are referring to.

You assumed that I “think that none of those verses referenced earlier were about Yeshua” yet you have not answered my question “are you saying that belief in Yeshua as the messiah of Israel requires assuming information not found in these verses?”
