Someone recently loaned me a book entitled Who Ate Lunch with Abraham by Asher Intrater which tries to prove that the angel of the LORD basically is Yeshua. :\ Also, in my Bible, which is a KJV Companion Bible by E.W. Bullinger, the word “man” in Gen.32:24 is capitalized.
Thanks to you both for all your work. Be blessed!

I would love to hear a study on the word “Testimonies.” Psalms is full of the word which describes God’s Word as his Testimonies. Moses also used the word describing the Torah and teachings and “laws” he received from Yehovah. What are all the nuances that are included with the use of that Word?

The Scriptures (ISR) has capital Man in Gen 32:24 and capitalizes all the pronouns referring to that man (He, Him).

As far as what I think messengers look like- in all the verses that reference the appreance of these messengers of Yehovah the people who see them say they look like men, so seems to me it is likely that they look like men. 🙂

Love these quick word studies! Keep up the good work guys! Blessings to you both.

I love these! Keep them coming. Have you done one on ‘the son of god’ in the fiery furnace?

Who Are You Entertaining? Many Have Entertained Angels Unaware”!

Hebrew 13:2 – Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some people have entertained angels without knowing it.

The word angel here is the Greek word (aggelos), meaning messenger, and is the “exact” same word translated messenger.

The word translated “entertain strangers” is the Greek word (philoxenox), meaning to be friendly to those who you don’t know. This word is taken from the root words (philos) meaning friend, and (xenos) which here means someone with whom you are not acquainted. This is the only place where this is translated “entertain strangers”, it’s normal translation is hospitality.

The Commander of the Army of the Lord

Perhaps you can make clear to me who is Joshua speaking to in this passage?
And why did he ( Joshua fell on his face to the earth and worshiped

13 And it came to pass, when Joshua was by Jericho, that he lifted his eyes and looked, and behold, a Man stood opposite him with His sword drawn in His hand. And Joshua went to Him and said to Him, “Are You for us or for our adversaries?”

14 So He said, “No, but as Commander of the army of the Lord I have now come.”

And Joshua fell on his face to the earth and worshiped, and said to Him, “What does my Lord say to His servant?”

15 Then the Commander of the Lord’s army said to Joshua, “Take your sandal off your foot, for the place where you stand is holy.” And Joshua did so.

    Thank you
    Really enjoy your program.

I have the New American Standard Bible, Side Column Reference. It has angel in lowercase letters in all the references you gave. It even has “man” in the Jacob reference in lowercase; I was surprised.
