Judges chapter 19 is perhaps one of the more gruesome chapters of the Tanakh. It deals with the story of a Levite and his concubine. It is mysterious and graphically violent, yet it must be studied. What should be understood from this chapter, what is it’s purpose?

Talk about a cliff hanger! I can’t wait for more. Thank you aka Yoel and Jono.
Another great informative episode. I observed something. In verse 29 it says the master cut her in twelve pieces, limb by limb. If you look at the human body there are 3 parts to each extremity. One can cut the shoulder, elbow and wrist joints, and the hip, knee, and ankle joints thus there are 2 upper arms, 2 forearms, 2 hands, 2 thighs, 2 lower extremities, 2 feet. I wonder if he sent out this poor woman’s specific body parts to specific tribes.
