Truth is Truth, eat the chicken and spit out the bones.
New insights are welcome.
Jono,
Hey, I want some of that kosher goat meat, lol! BTW goat is a meat I learned to like [lots] from the Mexican cuisine.
This is really great you guys, I’m glad that you are doing this.
“Pork eating Methodist”…very funny! ; )
Our group did a major study with the Hebrew and English and we believe that it was not Ham but his son Caaan who had sex with his grandfather. Canaan family is also the ones who built Sodom & Gormora. Canaan was the one who was cursed not Ham. Ham was the one who discovered what happened, that is why “he saw” Blessings From Arizona
Opps also wanted to point out the in 1 Chronciles 1; 1-19 the Genealogy of Noah Ham is the second not Noahs youngest son,
Shem is the youngest. Canaan was Ham’s youngest.
Jono, Keith, Nehemia I really appreciate what ya’all do providing these lessons.
Why is it called an ark? Is is the same word for the other ark of the covenant?
So, how about if Noah was the only man who had not “tainted” his adamic heritage? What if the sons of Elohim, the humans created in ch.1 of Genesis, were mixing with the daughters of Adam, ch 2? Noah was “perfect in his generations”, his blood wasn’t mixed with the other humans. And NO, I do not mean this to be a racist debate!! Yahweh’s priests were to be more pure than the others, and the nation of Yahweh was not to intermarry.
What do you think, Nehemiah?
Does Genesis 9:3 mean that all meats were allowed to be eaten? If not what does it mean??? Help please.
The kJV says cursed be Canaan not Ham? Is that a mistranslation?
Isn’t it possible that the nakedness of Noah was his wife?
Jono, Thank you for these Torah portions with Nehemiah and Keith. I am caused to remember so much Scripture when I hear them.
My comment is about the men who wanted to make a SHEM (name) for themselves. The words “all things are from the beginning” came into my heart.
Was the Torah known from the beginning? Did Adam know Torah as Mosheh wrote it, and as YHWH Elohim wrote the tablets?
“To build a name for themselves” reminds me that even in the world today, men make covenents that are not YHWH’s covenant, and say it is from YHWH.
Look at “the children of the promise” and how THE COVENANT was handed down.
Jealous siblings trying to “make a name for themselves.”
finally figured out how to fast forward it!

I grew up on goat meat (along with chicken and fish) and love it. I’m suprised Nehemiah said it’s not very popular among Israelites… I’m assuming it’s because many of them are from Europe and the US. I think the ones who never left the middle east probably still eat it – as he said goat is eaten by middle-easterners. Goat meat featured prominently in scriptures… I always smile when I think that it was goat that Jacob’s mother had prepared for Isaac as a “special meal” when he was supposed to bless his son (even though Esau hunted deer). I’ve only had deer once… but I know what good goat tastes like!!
Wow Thanks Shalom to all three of you and much Blessings, this is very good for me.
You guys are too funny! Thank-you Jono for this weekly study. Nehemia, I love your insight about our nature (thoughts of our heart) is to do evil but He gives us instruction (Torah) to over come that nature so we can walk with God. Love it! Keith was hard to hear but what great input from everyone! I will enjoy these every week (many times)
Named our sheep Gyro, Souvlaki and Haggis… and yes we ate goat, .. but they were named Jackie and Billy all were yummy here in Canada
Love your Torah portions! Meaning is lost when the word in Hebrew is translated… that’s why I enjoy studying scripture from a Hebrew perspective. Did I miss something, or did you guys not elaborate as to why Caanan was cursed because of Ham’s actions? I remember you guys discussing in a Hebrew context that Ham seeing his father’s nakedness suggests there may have been a sexual act that occured. I googled the subject and did not glean a satisfactory answer. One suggestion eluded to the concept from Exodus 20:5, God declared that he would “visit the iniquities of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generations.” The sins of the fathers are reflected in the behaviour of their children, and these children, in their turn, pay the penalty. Can you guys elaborate more of Caanan’s curse?
But they do not know the thoughts of YHWH; they do not understand His plan, He who gathers them
like sheaves to the threshing floor.
Micah 4:12
Amen Steven! The enemy nations have no clue. Israel, the daughter of Zion, the holy hill from where the Torah shall go forth, shall arise and beat them to pieces!
A wonderful prophecy
Amen Jono!
And concerning Jerusalem, I find Ezekiel 16 tells the entire story.
She shall bear her own shame!
And Isaiah 10:11
Shall I not, as I have done unto Samaria and her idols, so do to Jerusalem and her idols?
And so it happened to Jerusalem at the hand of Babylon as it happened to Samaria at the hand of Assyria. And yet Israel will arrive at Micah chapter 4 as because of what Yah says at the end of Ezekiel 16:59-63, “For thus said the Master יהוה, “I shall deal with you as you have done, in that you have despised the oath by breaking the covenant. But I shall remember My covenant with you in the days of your youth, and I shall establish an everlasting covenant with you. And you shall remember your ways and be ashamed, when you receive your older and your younger sisters. And I shall give them to you for daughters, though not by your own covenant. And I Myself shall establish My covenant with you. And you shall know that I am יהוה, so that you remember. And you shall be ashamed, and never open your mouth any more because of your shame, when I pardon you for all you have done,” declares the Master יהוה.”
Yes, Yah will save a remnant for his own names sake, and not because they have done any good to him, and this verse concerning their behavior, OUCH!
Isaiah 48 1Hear ye this, O house of Jacob, which are called by the name of Israel, and are come forth out of the waters of Judah, which swear by the name of the LORD, and make mention of the God of Israel, but not in truth, nor in righteousness. 2For they call themselves of the holy city, and stay themselves upon the God of Israel; The LORD of hosts is his name.
Yes, Even after all of Israels evil (not holiness, truth and righteousness) Yah will forgive, clean and choose Israel once again, but why? Because they have done any good? No
Ezekiel 36:22
Therefore say unto the house of Israel, thus saith the Lord GOD; I do not this for your sakes, O house of Israel, but for mine holy name’s sake, which ye have profaned among the heathen, whither ye went.
Just one more late comment: Leviticus 20:11 says that uncovering your father’s nakedness means that you slept with your own mother. Could this mean that the sexual act was actually with his mother and not his Father?
I have a couple questions.
When were the races created?
Did Noah take giants on the ark?
